该文针对远程开放教育中英语本科专业辍学率较高的现状,以辍学生及其相关教学人员为研究对象,采用问卷调查、深度访谈和集体访谈的方式收集相关数据,在研究过程中以自我决定理论作为指导,使用统计描述法与内容分析法对相关数据进行分析,结果发现:学习动机是影响学生做出辍学决定的重要因素之一。本研究拟重点探究学习动机是如何影响学生辍学的,并进而探讨在远程英语教学中激发学习者学习动机的可行性,以期在今后的开放教育教学中,对学习者采取必要的干预措施,对其学习过程进行有的放矢的管理、指导和培训,进而有效降低学生的辍学率,帮助更多的学习者顺利完成学业。
