空间推理是人类行动和思考的重要能力,它在人们的日常生活及众多学科领域中都扮演着关键性的角色。如何有效利用虚拟现实等新技术作为认知工具,并通过学校教育来培养空间推理技能,已成为一项重要的研究议题。沉浸式技术作为最具潜在优势的可视化技术之一,其媒体特性为支持空间推理技能的培养提供了新的途径。该文分析了沉浸式技术构建的学习环境对于发展空间推理技能的潜在优势,提出了空间推理技能发展的关键要素。然后,基于建构主义学习理论、认知负荷理论以及Kolb经验学习理论,结合沉浸式技术特性,构建了面向空间推理技能发展的沉浸式学习环境设计模型。依据该模型设计了基于zSpace (桌面式虚拟现实)的历史课《青铜器与甲骨文》学习环境,并开展了教学实践。研究结果表明:该学习环境设计能够显著提升中学生的空间推理技能(心理旋转、空间定向以及空间可视化),并能够促进他们对三维对象的外观、结构特征等方面的理解。
Abstract:Spatial reasoning is an important ability for action and thinking. It plays a key role in people's daily life and diverse subject areas. How to effectively use new technologies cultivate spatial reasoning skills through school education has become a hot topic.Immersive technology is one of the most potential visualization technologies and it provides new way for supporting the training of spatial reasoning skills. The paper analyzed potential advantages of the learning environment constructed by immersive technology for the development of spatial reasoning skills, and puts forward the key elements for its development. Then, based on constructive learning, cognitive load and Kolb empirical learning theory, combined with immersive technology characteristics, an immersive learning environment for the development of spatial reasoning skills was created. By using the model, the zSpace-based history course “Bronze and Oracle” was designed and conducted. Results show that the learning environment can significantly improve middle school students' spatial reasoning skills(mental rotation, spatial orientation, and spatial visualization), as well as promote their understanding of the appearance and structural characteristics of 3 D objects.
